Overview of components
Fork
The SunTour NEX is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 63mm. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. In conclusion, always look for a fork with decent travel when you buy a bike.
Fork material
The fork is made out of aluminum, which doesn’t add too much extra weight to the bike. However, it is not so stiff as steel or carbon forks are.
Wheels
The wheels on Globe Carmel 1 26″ are the 26″ aluminum type. Being a little smaller, these wheels will fit both small and tall riders. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The Globe Carmel 1 26″ comes with Rim brakes. Slightly lighter than hydraulic brakes, rim brakes are a budget choice. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
