The RockShox Recon Silver RL is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 120mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Wheels
The wheels on HiFi are the 29″ aluminum type. With 29″ wheels, bumps will feel lighter and you’ll gain more speed on descends, compared to smaller wheel-sized bikes. However, the 29″ wheels will add a little more weight to the bike itself.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Trek HiFi is equipped with Mechanical Disc brakes. They are much easier to maintain than hydraulic disk brakes. However, performance-wise there is room for improvement.
