Fork material
Flyer has a steel fork, which is tougher than carbon in the case of an impact. However, it can add some extra weight to the bike.
Wheels size
The wheels on Flyer are the 26″ aluminum type. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Fairdale Flyer is equipped with Rim brakes. Slightly lighter than hydraulic brakes, rim brakes are a budget choice. However, you could spend a little extra and get a bike that has hydraulic brakes.
