Tanuki components
Fork
The Tanuki comes factory-installed with the Suntour XCE fork. This has a travel range of 100mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. In conclusion, always look for a fork with decent travel when you buy a bike.
Wheels
As for the wheels, Kona Tanuki 2023, has a 27.5″ aluminum model. 27.5″ wheels are a mixture between 29″ wheels and 26″ wheels. However, these wheels have a slower top speed if you compare them to 29″ wheels.
Brakes
For your safety, it is important to have quality breaks on your bike. Kona Tanuki has Mechanical Disc brakes installed. These brakes are also very popular, and a lot cheaper than hydraulic disk brakes. However, performance-wise there is room for improvement.
