Mission 2 components
Fork
The Mission 2 comes factory-installed with the Fox Performance Float 36 fork. This has a travel range of 160mm. Bike forks are great for shock absorption and provide you with a smooth ride. In short, you should always ensure you have a good fork when purchasing a bike.
Fork material
The fork on this bike is made out of aluminum, which is a lighter material. However, it is not as tough, nor durable as steel is.
Rear Shock
The shock that’s installed on this bike is Fox Float DPS EVOL, with a travel distance of 160mm. Bike rear shocks increase the riding comfort, and also give you more control over technical trails. In short, if you want smooth rides, get a full-suspension bicycle.
Wheels
As for the wheels, Diamondback Mission 2 2017, has a 27.5″ aluminum model. 27.5″ wheels are a mixture between 29″ wheels and 26″ wheels. However, the overall traction of 27.5″ wheels is lower than 29″ wheels.
Brakes
For your safety, it is important to have quality breaks on your bike. Diamondback Mission 2 has Hydraulic Disc brakes installed. Hydraulic disc brakes provide amazing stopping power, no matter what the terrain. To sum up, these are ideal for anyone.
Sizes
Mission 2 comes in 4 sizes, that range from 158 cm – 199 cm (5.18 ft – 6.53 ft). In conclusion, finding one for you shouldn’t be a problem.
Dropper post
Diamondback Mission 2 includes a dropper post. A dropper post is a must-have these days if you’re riding anything remotely technical. The main benefit of a dropper post is increased safety while riding. As mentioned above, the lever system allows you to quickly move the saddle out of the way when approaching descents or trail obstacles.
