Overview of components
Fork
Kona LANA’I 2013 bike is equipped with the SunTour XCT fork, and has 100mm travel. Bike forks are good shock absorbers and provide a smooth ride and a great experience. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Wheels
The LANA’I 2013 bike is equipped with 26″ aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Kona LANA’I is equipped with Mechanical Disc brakes. They deliver good performance and cost less than hydraulic disk brakes. However, with hydraulic disk brakes, you have the ultimate braking power!
