Overview of components
Fork material
The fork is made out of steel, which tends to be more flexible than carbon forks in general. However, a carbon fork is considerably lighter.
Wheels
When leaving the production line, the Downtown 8+ Step-Thru model has 700c aluminum wheels. There is no doubt, that 700c wheels are very popular on all road bike models. However, while they give you great speed and control, these wheels are not so bump-friendly.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The Downtown 8+ Step-Thru comes with Rim brakes. Rim brakes are cheaper than hydraulic brakes, and also easier to maintain. However, they have problems in wet conditions.
Sizes
There are 4 sizes available for this model. Rider height can be anywhere between 151 cm – 184 cm (4.95 ft – 6.04 ft). In conclusion, finding one for you shouldn’t be a problem.
