Safety
When cycling always take safety very seriously. Wear a helmet, obey the traffic rules and wear hi-vis clothes. In short, take care of yourself so others can take care of you.
Downhill bikes average price
If you want an acceptable Downhill bike you should know that the average price is 3391$. However, this doesn’t mean that if you spend less money on a Downhill bike, you couldn’t get a decent one. In short, before purchasing your ideal bike do some research about its components, and also check for reviews online.
Overview of components
Fork
The RockShox BoXXer is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 200mm. Bike forks are great for shock absorption and provide you with a smooth ride. To sum it all, when buying a bike, ensure that you look for a fork capable of decent travel.
Rear Shock
As for the rear shock, this bike has the Fox VAN RC model, with a travel of 200mm. Rear shocks give you increased comfort, control, and traction, which is important when cornering or braking. This allows you to ride faster on bumpy roads. To sum up, always consider getting a bike that has a rear shock as well.
Wheels
As for the wheels, Kona Operator 2012, has a 26″ aluminum model. Being a little smaller, these wheels will fit both small and tall riders. However, they provide less traction than 29″ wheels do.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The Operator comes with Hydraulic Disc brakes. Hydraulic disc brakes are perfect for mountain biking, road cycling, and commuting. To sum up, you can ride your bike with confidence.
