Overview of components
Fork
The RockShox BoXXer is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 200mm. Bike forks are great for shock absorption and provide you with a smooth ride. To sum it all, when buying a bike, ensure that you look for a fork capable of decent travel.
Rear Shock
As for the rear shock, this bike has the Fox VAN RC model, with a travel of 200mm. Rear shocks give you increased comfort, control, and traction, which is important when cornering or braking. This allows you to ride faster on bumpy roads. To sum up, always consider getting a bike that has a rear shock as well.
Wheels
As for the wheels, Kona Operator 2012, has a 26″ aluminum model. Being a little smaller, these wheels will fit both small and tall riders. However, they provide less traction than 29″ wheels do.
