Fork
The Demo 8 II comes factory-installed with the RockShox BoXXer fork. This has a travel range of 200mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. In short, make sure you choose one with a decent fork when you purchase your dream bike.
Fork material
The fork on this bike is made out of aluminum, which doesn’t add too much extra weight to the bike. However, it is not so stiff as steel or carbon forks are.

As for the wheels, Specialized Demo 8 II 2011, has a 26″ aluminum model. These wheels give you great handling over your bike. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
