Overview of components
Fork
Specialized Safire Expert 2010 bike is equipped with the Fox fork, and has 100mm travel. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. To sum it all, when buying a bike, ensure that you look for a fork capable of decent travel.
Fork material
The fork is made out of aluminum, so there won’t be much extra weight added to the bike. However, they are not so stiff as carbon forks are.
Rear Shock
As for the rear shock, this bike has the Specialized AFR Brain Shock w/ remote Trail Tune inertia valve model, with a travel of 120mm. Wheels
The Safire Expert 2010 bike is equipped with 26″ aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, they provide less traction than 29″ wheels do.
