Safety
When cycling always take safety very seriously. Wear a helmet, obey the traffic rules and wear hi-vis clothes. In short, take care of yourself so others can take care of you.
Crosscountry bikes average price
If you want an acceptable Crosscountry bike you should know that the average price is 1905$. However, paying less money than this amount doesn’t mean that you couldn’t get a great Crosscountry bike. In conclusion, always check bike reviews and their components before making a purchase to make sure you don’t overpay.
Overview of components
Fork
This bike has the SunTour XCT fork installed. The fork’s travel is 80mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Fork material
The fork is made out of aluminum, which doesn’t add too much extra weight to the bike. However, it is not so stiff as steel or carbon forks are.
Wheels
When leaving the production line, the Myka HT model has 26″ aluminum wheels. These wheels give you great handling over your bike. However, they provide less traction than 29″ wheels do.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Specialized Myka HT is equipped with Rim brakes. Rim brakes are cheaper than hydraulic brakes, and also easier to maintain. However, they have problems in wet conditions.
