Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon components
Fork
The Fox is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 100mm. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Fork material
Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon has an aluminum fork, so there won’t be much extra weight added to the bike. However, they are not so stiff as carbon forks are.
Rear Shock
The shock that’s installed on this bike is Specialized/Fox AFR Brain Shock w/ remote, with a travel distance of 140mm. Rear shocks offer better comfort, better traction, and better cornering. This allows for quicker riding on rough roads and trails. To sum up, get a full-suspension bike if you want the smoothest rides.
Wheels size
The Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon 2010 bike is equipped with 26″ aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon is equipped with Hydraulic Disc brakes. With Hydraulic Disc brakes, you’ll be able to stop on a dime, even in wet or icy conditions. To sum up, these are ideal for anyone.
