Fork
The SunTour NEX is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 63mm. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. In conclusion, always look for a fork with decent travel when you buy a bike.
Fork material
Carmel 5 Low Entry has an aluminum fork, so there won’t be much extra weight added to the bike. However, they are not so stiff as carbon forks are.
Wheels
The wheels on Carmel 5 Low Entry are the 26″ aluminum type. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The Carmel 5 Low Entry comes with Rim brakes. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, you could spend a little extra and get a bike that has hydraulic brakes.
