Cruiser bikes average weight
Cruiser bikes weigh an average of 15.83 kg (34.9 lbs). You will have a greater advantage on climbs if your bike is easier than the average. On descents, however, a heavier bike will give you extra speed.
Uptown 7 weighs 14.1 kg (31.09 lbs) and is considerably lighter than the average. In conclusion, the average Cruiser bike weighs 12.27% more than Uptown 7.
Overview of components
Fork material
The fork is made out of steel, which is tougher than carbon in the case of an impact. However, it can add some extra weight to the bike.
Wheels size
When leaving the production line, the Uptown 7 model has 26″ aluminum wheels. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, they provide less traction than 29″ wheels do.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Breezer Uptown 7 is equipped with Rim brakes. Rim brakes are cheaper than hydraulic brakes, and also easier to maintain. However, you could spend a little extra and get a bike that has hydraulic brakes.
