Mountaineer components
Fork
Norco Mountaineer 2010 bike is equipped with the SunTour fork, and has 63mm travel. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. In short, make sure you choose one with a decent fork when you purchase your dream bike.
Fork material
Mountaineer has an aluminum fork, which doesn’t add too much extra weight to the bike. However, it is not so stiff as steel or carbon forks are.
Wheels
When it comes to wheels, the Mountaineer bike is equipped with the 26″ aluminum model. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Norco Mountaineer is equipped with Mechanical Disc brakes. They deliver good performance and cost less than hydraulic disk brakes. However, with hydraulic disk brakes, you have the ultimate braking power!
