Aero bikes average price
If you want an acceptable Aero bike you should know that the average price is 4211$. However, this doesn’t mean that if you spend less money on an Aero bike, you couldn’t get a decent one. As a general rule of thumb, you should always read reviews about the bike and its components before buying it to ensure you don’t pay too much.
When Felt released this model in 2012, its price was 4999$. Comparing the average cost of an Aero bike to this one, you will see that AR3 price is 18.71% higher.
Aero bikes average weight
The average weight for Aero bikes is 7.34 kg (16.18 lbs). It is a good advantage to have a lighter bike than the average. However, a heavier bike is more efficient on descents.
Weighing 7.89 kg (17.39 lbs), the AR3 model is a bit heavier than average. In short, the average Aero bike weight is 7.49% lower than this one.
Internal Cable Routing
Moreover, this bike comes with internal cable routing allowing you to keep the cables in a good condition. It also makes it look more professional.
Overview of components
Fork material
The fork on this bike is made out of carbon, so, it won’t add up to much weight to your bike. However, the price you have to pay for a carbon fork is considerably higher.
Wheels
The wheels on AR3 are the 700c aluminum type. These wheels are the most used kind for road bikes in general. However, while they give you great speed and control, these wheels are not so bump-friendly.
Brakes
For your safety, it is important to have quality breaks on your bike. Felt AR3 has Rim brakes installed. Rim brakes are cheaper than hydraulic brakes, and also easier to maintain. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
