Safety
When cycling always take safety very seriously. Wear a helmet, obey the traffic rules and wear hi-vis clothes. In short, take care of yourself so others can take care of you.
Crosscountry bikes average price
If you want an acceptable Crosscountry bike you should know that the average price is 1905$. However, this doesn’t mean that if you spend less money on a Crosscountry bike, you couldn’t get a decent one. As a general rule of thumb, you should always read reviews about the bike and its components before buying it to ensure you don’t pay too much.
Overview of components
Fork
This bike has the RockShox Judy fork installed. The fork’s travel is 80mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Wheels
The Advance 2004 bike is equipped with 26″ wheels when leaving the factory. These wheels give you great handling over your bike. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
For your safety, it is important to have quality breaks on your bike. Gary Fisher Advance has Rim brakes installed. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
Sizes
Advance comes in 7 sizes, that range from 156 cm – 182 cm (5.12 ft – 5.97 ft). In short, it won’t be difficult to find the right one for you.
