Model Overview
Mahuna belongs to the Kona Mahuna model. Kona launched 13 bikes of this model so far.
Safety
When cycling always take safety very seriously. Wear a helmet, obey the traffic rules and wear hi-vis clothes. In short, take care of yourself so others can take care of you.
Average price for Enduro bikes
If you want an acceptable Enduro bike you should know that the average price is 3599$. However, even though the average price of an Enduro bike is lower, you might still be able to get a top-quality bike. In conclusion, always check bike reviews and their components before making a purchase to make sure you don’t overpay.
Mahuna components
Fork
This bike has the SunTour XCT fork installed. The fork’s travel is mm. Bike forks are great for shock absorption and provide you with a smooth ride. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Wheels size
The Mahuna 2012 bike is equipped with 29″ aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. Having 29″ wheels means that you need less fork travel, leading to a reduction of the pedal bob effect. However, these wheels are not ideal for smaller people.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Kona Mahuna is equipped with Mechanical Disc brakes. They are much easier to maintain than hydraulic disk brakes. However, performance-wise there is room for improvement.
