About this model
UNIT is part of the Kona Unit model. Kona released 20 bikes variations of this model so far.
Safety
Take safety seriously when you ride your bike, and always wear your helmet. Moreover, don’t ride on the sidewalk. This is actually against the law in some states and can be dangerous for both you and pedestrians.
Trail bikes average price
If you want an acceptable Trail bike you should know that the average price is 2762$. However, this doesn’t mean that if you spend less money on a Trail bike, you couldn’t get a decent one. As a general rule of thumb, you should always read reviews about the bike and its components before buying it to ensure you don’t pay too much.
UNIT components
Wheels size
When leaving the production line, the UNIT model has 29″ aluminum wheels. With 29″ wheels, bumps will feel lighter and you’ll gain more speed on descends, compared to smaller wheel-sized bikes. However, 29″ wheels will make your bike react slower to obstacles you may encounter.
Brakes
Stopping the bike when needed, it’s essential for your safety. This bike has Mechanical Disc brakes. They are much easier to maintain than hydraulic disk brakes. However, they don’t have the stopping power of hydraulic brakes.
