Fork material
The fork on this bike is made out of carbon, so, its weight is considerably lighter than one made out of steel. However, they cost a bit more than steel forks.
Wheels
The 1200C 2003 bike is equipped with 700c aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. These are the most popular wheels for road, aero, gravel, cyclocross, race, and gravel bikes. However, these wheels don’t perform so well when passing over obstacles.
Brakes
For your safety, it is important to have quality breaks on your bike. Trek 1200C has Rim brakes installed. Rim brakes are cheaper than hydraulic brakes, and also easier to maintain. However, they have problems in wet conditions.
