Overview of components
Fork material
The fork on this bike is made out of steel, so, it can add some extra weight to your bike. However, steel is a pretty tough and durable material.
Wheels size
As for the wheels, Trek Capitola 2002, has a 26″ aluminum model. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
For your safety, it is important to have quality breaks on your bike. Trek Capitola has Rim brakes installed. Slightly lighter than hydraulic brakes, rim brakes are a budget choice. However, you could spend a little extra and get a bike that has hydraulic brakes.
Sizes
Capitola comes in 6 sizes, that range from 158 cm – 180 cm (5.18 ft – 5.91 ft). In conclusion, you won’t have a problem finding one that suits you.
