Overview of components
Fork
This bike has the SunTour fork installed. The fork’s travel is 50mm. Bike forks are great for shock absorption and provide you with a smooth ride. In short, make sure you choose one with a decent fork when you purchase your dream bike.
Wheels size
The wheels on Monterey 1.0 (US only / Step-over) are the 26″ aluminum type. Being a little smaller, these wheels will fit both small and tall riders. However, they provide less traction than 29″ wheels do.
Brakes
When you want to stop the bike in time, the brakes are vital. The Monterey 1.0 (US only / Step-over) has Rim brakes. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
