EXPLORER SPORT components
Fork
The EXPLORER SPORT comes factory-installed with the SunTour fork. This has a travel range of 80mm. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. In short, you should always ensure you have a good fork when purchasing a bike.
Fork material
The fork is made out of aluminum, so there won’t be much extra weight added to the bike. However, they are not so stiff as carbon forks are.
Wheels
The EXPLORER SPORT 2019 bike is equipped with aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. The 650b wheels are very similar to 700c, with a slight difference in diameter. However, they don’t perform so well when you go over bumps and obstacles.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The EXPLORER SPORT comes with Rim brakes. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
