Fork
The Brass Monkey 1 – 27.5 comes factory-installed with the SunTour XCM HLO fork. This has a travel range of 100mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. In short, you should always ensure you have a good fork when purchasing a bike.
Wheels size
The Brass Monkey 1 – 27.5 2015 bike is equipped with 27.5″ aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. The 27.5″ wheels are a great choice for smaller riders. However, the 27.5″ wheels are less forgiving than the 29″ wheels.
Brakes
When you want to stop the bike in time, the brakes are vital. The Brass Monkey 1 – 27.5 has Mechanical Disc brakes. These brakes are also very popular, and a lot cheaper than hydraulic disk brakes. However, performance-wise there is room for improvement.
