Overview of components
Fork
The Summit 2 comes factory-installed with the SunTour XCM HLO fork. This has a travel range of 100mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. In short, you should always ensure you have a good fork when purchasing a bike.
Wheels
When leaving the production line, the Summit 2 model has 27.5″ wheels. 27.5″ wheels will reach higher speeds than smaller-sized wheels. However, the 27.5″ wheels are less forgiving than the 29″ wheels.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. K2 Summit 2 is equipped with Mechanical Disc brakes. They are much easier to maintain than hydraulic disk brakes. However, with hydraulic disk brakes, you have the ultimate braking power!
