COWAN components
Fork
The Marzocchi is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 80mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Wheels size
As for the wheels, Kona COWAN 2010, has a 26″ aluminum model. Being a little smaller, these wheels will fit both small and tall riders. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The COWAN comes with Mechanical Disc brakes. These brakes are also very popular, and a lot cheaper than hydraulic disk brakes. However, they don’t have the stopping power of hydraulic brakes.
