FIRE MOUNTAIN components
Fork
The FIRE MOUNTAIN comes factory-installed with the RockShox fork. This has a travel range of 100mm. Bike forks are great for shock absorption and provide you with a smooth ride. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Wheels
When leaving the production line, the FIRE MOUNTAIN model has 26″ aluminum wheels. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
For your safety, it is important to have quality breaks on your bike. Kona FIRE MOUNTAIN has Mechanical Disc brakes installed. These brakes are also very popular, and a lot cheaper than hydraulic disk brakes. However, they don’t have the stopping power of hydraulic brakes.
