Overview of components
Fork material
Santiago has an aluminum fork, which doesn’t add too much extra weight to the bike. However, it is not so stiff as steel or carbon forks are.
Wheels size
When leaving the production line, the Santiago model has 26″ aluminum wheels. Being a little smaller, these wheels will fit both small and tall riders. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The Santiago comes with Rim brakes. Slightly lighter than hydraulic brakes, rim brakes are a budget choice. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
