Epic Expert Carbon components
Fork
The RockShox SID is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 100mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. In short, you should always ensure you have a good fork when purchasing a bike.
Fork material
The fork on this bike is made out of aluminum, which is a lighter material. However, it is not as tough, nor durable as steel is.
Rear Shock
The shock that’s installed on this bike is Fox/SBC remote Mini-Brain, with a travel distance of 100mm. Bike rear shocks increase the riding comfort, and also give you more control over technical trails. In short, a full-suspension bike will give you the smoothest ride possible.
Wheels size
When leaving the production line, the Epic Expert Carbon model has 26″ aluminum wheels. These wheels give you great handling over your bike. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Specialized Epic Expert Carbon is equipped with Hydraulic Disc brakes. With Hydraulic Disc brakes, you’ll be able to stop on a dime, even in wet or icy conditions. To sum up, your safety is in good hands.
