Expedition components
Fork
The SunTour NEX is included from the factory. It has a travel distance of 63mm. Bike forks absorb the shocks and give you a smooth and pleasant ride. In short, make sure you choose one with a decent fork when you purchase your dream bike.
Fork material
The fork is made out of aluminum, which doesn’t add too much extra weight to the bike. However, it is not so stiff as steel or carbon forks are.
Wheels
When leaving the production line, the Expedition model has 26″ aluminum wheels. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The Expedition comes with Rim brakes. Rim brakes are cheaper than hydraulic brakes, and also easier to maintain. However, they have problems in wet conditions.
Sizes
This bike is available in 4 sizes. They vary from 158 cm – 199 cm (5.18 ft – 6.53 ft). In conclusion, you won’t have a problem finding one that suits you.
