Myka components
Fork
The Myka comes factory-installed with the SunTour XCT fork. This has a travel range of 80mm. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. To sum up, when buying a bicycle, make sure you get a fork that is capable of delivering decent travel.
Fork material
The fork is made out of aluminum, which is a lighter material. However, it is not as tough, nor durable as steel is.
Wheels
As for the wheels, Specialized Myka 2012, has a 26″ aluminum model. These wheels give you great handling over your bike. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
When you want to stop the bike in time, the brakes are vital. The Myka has Rim brakes. Slightly lighter than hydraulic brakes, rim brakes are a budget choice. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
