Big Dummy components
Fork material
Big Dummy has a steel fork, which tends to be more flexible than carbon forks in general. However, a carbon fork is considerably lighter.
Wheels
When leaving the production line, the Big Dummy model has 26″ aluminum wheels. Being a little smaller, these wheels will fit both small and tall riders. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Surly Big Dummy is equipped with Mechanical Disc brakes. These brakes are also very popular, and a lot cheaper than hydraulic disk brakes. However, with hydraulic disk brakes, you have the ultimate braking power!
