1000 has an aluminum fork, which is a lighter material. However, it is not as tough, nor durable as steel is.
Wheels size
The 1000 2003 bike is equipped with 700c aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. These are the most popular wheels for road, aero, gravel, cyclocross, race, and gravel bikes. However, while they give you great speed and control, these wheels are not so bump-friendly.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The 1000 comes with Rim brakes. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, they have problems in wet conditions.
