4900 components
Fork
This bike has the RockShox fork installed. The fork’s travel is 80mm. Bike forks are perfect to absorb shocks and provide a great riding experience overall. In short, make sure you choose one with a decent fork when you purchase your dream bike.
Fork material
4900 has a magnesium fork, but they are not so popular as steel or carbon forks.
Wheels size
When leaving the production line, the 4900 model has 26″ aluminum wheels. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Trek 4900 is equipped with Rim brakes. Slightly lighter than hydraulic brakes, rim brakes are a budget choice. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
