Fork material
The fork is made out of steel, which tends to be more flexible than carbon forks in general. However, a carbon fork is considerably lighter.
Wheels size
The Pure Sport Lowstep 2009 bike is equipped with 26″ aluminum wheels when leaving the factory. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, they are less forgiving when riding over obstacles such as bumps and roots.
Brakes
Stopping the bike when needed, it’s essential for your safety. This bike has Rim brakes. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
