Wheels
As for the wheels, Trek Skye 2014, has a 26″ aluminum model. The 26″ wheels are lighter than the 27.5 or 29″ wheels. However, you will need increased suspension than in the case of 29″ wheels.
Brakes
Nothing is more important on a bike than its ability to brake properly. Trek Skye is equipped with Rim brakes. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
