Wheels size
As for the wheels, Trek T500+ BLX 2014, has a 700c aluminum model. These wheels are the most used kind for road bikes in general. However, these wheels don’t perform so well when passing over obstacles.
Brakes
We ride faster and faster, so a good braking system is essential on a bike nowadays. The T500+ BLX comes with Rim brakes. Rim brakes are cheaper than hydraulic brakes, and also easier to maintain. However, they are not nearly as effective as hydraulic brakes are.
